What is exoplanet-talks.org?

News

Welcome at Exoplanet-talks.org. Here we give you a short instruction on how to use the platform.

Short instructions:
1) To be sure use Chrome or Safari. Other browsers may work, but we did not test them extensively.
2) Go to http://exoplanet-talks.org
3) Please read the code of conduct: https://exoplanet-talks.org/page/code-of-conduct 
4) go to the top-right and click on "register"
5) Fill in the short form. Important: you need to use your institute's email (no gmail or so). This is  to make sure that you are who you are (safety and security).
6) Now Wait... We will receive an email that you want to register, and we have to approve that. Depending on your time zone that may take a while - until we wake up here. 
7) Upon approval, you will receive an email. And you can log in! (top right on the main page). The email may end up in your spam folder, so you can also just try after a few hours.
8) When logged in, you can hover over your name (top right) to click on My Profile/Videos - click!
9) You now see your personal page, which your login details (which you can edit) and your videos
10) Click on "Upload a new video" and select/drag your video-file
11) Fill in the title, description, keywords, and options for scientific category, comments (yes/no), private messages (yes/no), and public visible (yes, other wise the video is uploaded but not visible). All these options/comments can be easily changed afterwards, if needed. 
12) The video will be uploaded to Vimeo, and needs to be processed. Normally, a few minutes later this is finished, and you are ready!
